H3 Girls Rugby  first outing for new  U12 Girls Team

After literally only a handful of training sessions H3's new girls were given their first taste of competitive rugby at Lewes last Sunday. A somewhat hesitant start allowed the home team to score a couple of cheap tries but as the game progressed the H3 girls slowly gained in confidence. By the start of the second half they started to gel together as a team and began to play some nice rugby, passing the ball much quicker and with greater accuracy down the line. In the lineout Yasmin Keen and  Ellie Message were very impressive and as the game progressed everyone's confidence on the ball and in the tackle improved considerably.

All in all a fantastic effort throughout the game from every player, it was clear that with further training and a few more games under their belt, we will see some great things evolving from these youngsters.

Try scorers for H3 were Millie Gale and Chloe de Goes

H3 GIRLS WIN PLACES IN REGIONAL SQUAD

Six girls who play rugby for H3 have won places in the South East Regional squad for the 2008 season.  Trials were held at Sittingbourne where they competed with girls from Kent, Sussex and Medway for a coveted place in the South East U15 squad. More than forty girls were put through their paces while selectors watched and Debs Harwood, Steph Walter, Olivia Davies, Laura Baker, Nina Crowther and Kat Cook all impressed the selectors.  The girls will now train with the squad and play against other regions in England, finishing the season with a multi-region tournament in April.
